TransContainer has launched a new block train from Kemerovo in Siberia to China via the territory of Kazakhstan. The project is a cooperation with AlyansTransTorg, and is supported by Russian Railways and KTZ Express.
The first train carrying 102 TEU laden with sawn goods departed from Kemerovo on September. The train is routed via the Dostyk rail border crossing and is destined for the rail station of Tuanjiecun in China. The transit time is 3 days.
In future the service is planned to be \operated on a regular basis with a frequency of two or three trains monthly. In addition to sawn goods, other commodity types are to be transported.
