TOP-5 Russian Terminals’ Throughput in January-July 2020

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total cargo throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-July 2020 amounted to 474.8 mn tons (-1.8%). Five terminals handled 137.2 mn tons or 28.9% of this volume.

    CPC-R in Novorossiysk remains the leader in terms of cargo throughput. Its cargo traffic decreased by 1.3% up to 35.7 mn tons.

    Cargo traffic via Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port amounted to 33.4 mn tons, down 24.4% year-on-year.

    Primorsk Commercial Port handled 31.8 mn tons, down 11.1% year-on-year.

    Cargo throughput via Transneft Kozmino Port in Vostochny increased by 4.3% up to 20 mn tons.

    Vostochny Port stepped a line up in January-July 2020 and rates the fifth. It handled 16.3 mn tons, up 10.2% year-on-year.

    It should be noted that the stevedores which demonstrated the highest growth did not get into the Top-5. Anadyr Sea Port, Egvekinot Branch saw its cargo traffic surge 7.3-fold, Arctic Consulting Service in Arkhangelsk was up 5.8-fold, Tiksi Sea Port was up 4.3-fold.

    The largest decrease in cargo traffic was in Nakhodka oil bunker (-96%), Dalzavod-Terminal (Vladivostok) (-90.4%) and Naryan-Mar Commercial Sea Port (-80.8%).
