TOP-5 Russian Terminals’ Non-Ferrous Metals Throughput in January-April 2020

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, non-ferrous metals throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-April 2020 amounted to 1.2 mn tons (-14.8%). It should be noted that non-ferrous metals accounts for 0.4% of the total throughput.

    Sea Port of St. Petersburg is the leader in terms of non-ferrous metals throughput with 344.6 thousand tons, down 27.3% year-on-year.

    Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port saw its non-ferrous metals traffic surge by 66.8% up to 262.9 thousand tons.

    Norilsk Nickel, Murmansk Transport Branch handled 141.4 thousand tons, down 15.7% year-on-year.

    Gazprom Transservice in Temryuk handled 139.2 thousand tons (-17%).

    Non-ferrous metals throughput via the Dudinka Port Branch of Norilsk Nickel declined by 8.7% down to 126.1 thousand tons.

    It should be noted that the highest non-ferrous metals throughput growth was via Kaliningrad Commercial Sea Port. Its non-ferrous metals traffic surge 3-fold. Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port was up 66.8%.

    The largest decrease in non-ferrous metals traffic was in Novorossiysk Shiprepair Yard (-45.8%), Sea Port of St. Petersburg (-27.3%) and Commercial center, Transport & Les (Big Port of St. Petersburg) (-27.3%).
