Gazprom Gazenergoset Geliy is developing an investment project aimed to establish a helium container logistics service center in Primorsky Kray.
According to the Ministry for Development of the Far East and Arctic, the logistics center for helium containers will be established in the Nadezhdinskaya advanced development territory. The investments into the project is estimated to make about 5.2 bn rubles ($73.1 thousand).
Commissioning the center will be synchronized with the launch of helium production at the Amur Gas Processing Plant in Amur Oblast. The center will provide logistics services for export designated helium to be shipped via sea ports.
The center will hande ISO containers with liquid helium before they are loaded onto sea-going vessels in the ports of Primorsky Kray, and empty containers before they are delivered for filling to the Amur Gas Processing Plant.
The start of transportation of commercial helium produced at the Amur Gas Processing Plant is scheduled for 2021. By 2025, when the Amur Gas Processing Plant is to reach its full design capacity, the center should be capable of handling over 4,000 containers per year.
The center will have two helium liquefaction units with a capacity of 500 liters per hour each and an in-house air separation unit, which will provide nitrogen production from atmospheric air, its liquefaction and storage.
