During January-March 2020 Russia’s export of sawn goods made 4.1 mn tons, down 7.5% year-on-year. According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in terms of value, sawn goods export was down 6% making $966.4 mn.
Logs export decreased by 23.8% year-on-year down to 2.89 mn cbm worth $202.2 mn, down 30% year-on-year.
Plywood export increased by 11.4% year-on-year to make 735.3 thousand cbm worth $283.9 mn, down 5.5% year-on-year.
Wood pulp export in Q1 2020 amounted to 555.9 thousand tons, up 6.4% year-on-year worth $231.2 mn, down 21.4% year-on-year.
Newsprint export made 298.3 thousand tons, down 1.4% year-on-year, worth $104.4 mn, down 32.9% year-on-year.
In March, sawn goods export made 1.52 mn tons, down 11.5% year-on-year and up 20.6% month-on-month worth $343.9 mn, down 11.1% year-on-year and up 7.9% month-on-month.
Logs export made 1.28 mn cbm, down 7.1% year-on-year and up 55.3% month-on-month. In terms of value, it decreased by 13.2% year-on-year and surged by 66.6% month-on-month to make $91.3 mn.
Plywood export in March, made 265.3 thousand cbm, up 11.7% year-on-year and up 6.2% month-on-month. In terms of value, it increased by 1.3% year-on-year and by 9.7% month-on-month making to $105.9 mn.
Wood pulp export made 191.1 thousand tons, up 6.3% year-on-year and up 10.1% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export decreased by 19.9% year-on-year and increased by 3.2% month-on-month to make $78.3 mn.
Newsprint export grew by 19.5% year-on-year and by 14.7% month-on-month to make 109.2 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was down 14.9% year-on-year and up 14.5% month-to-month to $38 mn.
