According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car import in January-March 2020 was down 15.1% year-on-year to 52.2 thousand units. Truck import during Q1 2020 2020 declined by 18.3% year-on-year down to 4.9 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import during January-March decreased by 20.3% year-on-year down to $1.35 bn. Truck import dropped by 44.3% down to $273 mn.
In March 2020, car import was down 12.3% year-on-year and surged by 54.8% month-on-month to make 25.7 thousand units. Truck import made 2.2 thousand units, down 18.5% year-on-year and up 29.4% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car import decreased by 21.7% year-on-year and grew by 48.3% month-on-month to make $646.7 mn in March. Truck import was worth $96.1 mn, down 50.3% year-on-year and up 2.7% month-on-month.
Russia’s car export in January-March 2020 was down 25.9% year-on-year to 16.8 thousand units. Truck export declined by 22.2% making 2.1 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export was down 22.9% year-on-year amounting to more than $236.5 mn. Truck export decreased by 4.4% to make $67.6 mn.
In March, car export declined by 27.2% year-on-year and grew by 36.7% month-on-month to 6.7 thousand units. Truck export made 900 units, down 18.2% year-on-year and up 50% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car export in March decreased by 33.7% year-on-year and grew by 9.9% month-on-month to make $87.8 mn. Truck export was worth $30.6 mn, down 2.9% year-on-year and up 37.2% month-on-month.
