On May 26, the technical laying of the third serial Project 22220 universal nuclear icebreaker is scheduled to take place at Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg.
The new icebreaker will be named “Yakutia” and will become the fourth nuclear-powered icebreaker in the series. The customer is Atomflot, according to United Shipbuilding Corp.
The name of the new icebreaker continues the tradition of nuclear icebreakers after geographic objects on the Northern Sea Route or the decommissioned Soviet nuclear-powered Arctic icebreakers.

- Nuclear power plant includes the RITM-200 reactor unit with a capacity: 175 MW
- Steam turbine unit with an output: 72 MW

The maximum thickness of the continuous flat shore ice, which the icebreaker can break through moving ahead and astern at 1,5-2 knots in deep water at full capacity of the power plant and draft on design waterline is 2.8 m
