According to SeaNews Russian Foreign Trade Customs Statistics online service, copper and copper products export from Russia in 2019 amounted to 880.9 thousand tons (+2.9% year-on-year) worth $5.2 bn (-3.2%).
In 2019, copper and copper products from Russia were shipped to 117 countries. The main destinations were the Netherlands, China, Germany and Kuwait. Most of the volume was shipped from Krasnoyarsk Kray, Sverdlovsk Oblast, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk Oblast and the Murmansk Oblast.
In 2019, the export of refined copper and unprocessed copper alloys increased by 7.1% year-on-year up to 698.8 thousand tons, in monetary terms it remained practically on the last year’s level of $4.1 bn (+0.1%). The main importing countries were the Netherlands, China and Germany. Almost all shipments were made from Krasnoyarsk Kray, Sverdlovsk Oblast and St. Petersburg.
Copper wire export in 2019 amounted to 144 thousand tons (-11.2%) worth $856.4 mn (-17.3%). A significant share of this volume was shipped to Kuwait, Egypt and the Netherlands. Most of the volume was exported from Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk Oblasts, as well as from St. Petersburg.
Copper and copper products export to the Netherlands increased by 19.8% up to 319.3 thousand tons in 2019. In monetary terms, shipments to this country increased by 13.6% up to $1.9 bn. Krasnoyarsk Kray was the main exporting region, significant volumes were also shipped from St. Petersburg.
Copper export to China amounted to 186.3 thousand tons (+13%) worth $1.1 bn (+0.3%). Most of the shipments originated from Sverdlovsk Oblast and St. Petersburg.
Copper export to Germany decreased both in terms of tonnage (-25.9%) and value (-29.2%) amounting to 97.7 thousand tons worth $586.9 mn. More than 90% of all shipments were from Krasnoyarsk Kray.
Copper export to Kuwait decreased by 6.6% down to 88.4 thousand tons. In monetary terms, shipments declined by 11% down to $525.3 mn. Copper and copper products were shipped to Kuwait from Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk Oblasts.
