According to Russian Railways, the loading of cargo designated for export via Russian sea ports made 79.3 mn tons during January-March 2020 increasing 0.5% year-on-year.
48.2% of the entire volume is coal growing by 0.9% up to 38.2 mn tons during the period under report.
Coal loading designated for South Russian ports increased by 27.2% year-on-year up to 4.1 mn tons, that to North-Western ports declined by 6% down to 12.1 mn tons, and that to the Russian Far East was up 1.1% to 22.1 mn tons.
Oil and products accounted for 29.4% of the total export rail freight, ferrous metals for 7.1%, and fertilizers for 5.5% of the total.
32.7 mn tons of export cargo, 0.3% below the level of Q1 2019, was designated for the North-West sea ports.
The Southern region ports accounted for 20.4 mn tons, down 1% year-on-year.
Cargo volume loaded for export via the ports of the Russian Far East made 26.3 mn tons, up 0.5% year-on-year.
