DeloPorts, part of Delo Group, has published its operating results for Q1 2020. The throughput of its stevedoring assets in Novorossiysk grew by 44% year-on-year up to 2.6 mn tons due to the increased handling of containers and grain.
Container traffic via the NUTEP Container Terminal was up 26% year-on-year making 125,640 TEU. The growth is largely due to the inauguration of the new deep-water berth No. 38, the redirection of part of the traditional cargo flow from the North-West to the South, as well as the growing reefer traffic.
Despite the unfavorable market conditions and the negative change in the ruble exchange rate, NUTEP was able to increase its March turnover by 27% reaching a record-breaking volume of 50,518 TEU, a 10,800 TEU increase compared to the same period in 2019.
Grain turnover via the KSK Grain Terminal in Q1 2020 grew by 57% year-on-year amounting to 1.1 mn tons. The increase is the result of the commissioning of the new production facilities for automobile and railway cargo reception. Moreover, the KSK silo capacities wewe expanded from 116 thousand tons of simultaneous storage to 210 thousand tons. In March, KSK’s throughput in March 2020 surged by 90% year-on-year.
General and Ro-Ro cargo turnover made 10 thousand tons in Q1 2020.
