The construction of the first Russian built Aframax tanker underway at the Zvezda Shipyard has entered the final stage, according to the Primorsky Kray government.
The series consists of 12 Aframax tankers. At present, sections for the first four hulls are being assembled at Zvezda. According to Konstantin Laptev, acting MD of the yard, the first vessel is to hit the water this spring, delivery is scheduled inautumn.
The tanker is 258 long and 46 m beam, such large vessels were not built even in the Soviet Union, K.Laptev noted.
