Container Traffic via Russian Ports up 4.1% in November 2019

  • According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput of all the Russian sea ports in November 2019 grew by 4.1% year-on-year.

    Import container traffic was up 7.8%, cabotage up 1.2%, export up 5.9%, and transit down 52.6% year-on-year.

    The Baltic basin ports account for the largest share in the Russian sea ports’ combined container throughput handling in November 205.9 thousand TEU, up 0.5% year-on-year.

    The Russian Far Eastern ports saw their container traffic increase by 2.1% up to 153.6 thousand TEU.

    The Azov and Black Sea basin ports handled 64 thousand TEU, up 23.8% year-on-year.

    Container traffic via the Arctic basin ports amounted to 17.4 thousand TEU, up 7% year-on-year.

    The Caspian basin ports increased their container throughput by 10.4% up to 180 TEU.
