Clothes and Footwear Import, Fabric Export

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-September 2019 Russia imported 49.2 mn pairs of leather footwear, down 1.8% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import declined by 8.1% year-on-year down to $1.3 bn.

    In September, leather footwear import was up 11.5% year-on-year, but down 28.4% month-on-month making 5.8 mn pairs worth $181 mn, up 11.4% year-on-year and down 25.9% month-on-month.

    Clothes import into Russia in January-September increased by 2.7% up to $5.6 bn. In September, it was up 5.5% year-on-year and down 23.6% month-on-month to $637.4 mn.

    Cotton fabric import during the first 9 months was up 12.7% year-on-year to 229.5 mn sqm. In terms of value it declined by 1.6% down to $116.3 mn.

    In September, cotton fabric import increased by 23.2% year-on-year and declined by 12.3% month-on-month amounting to $25.9 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $10.7 mn, down 4.6% year-on-year and down 6.1% month-on-month.

    Cotton fabric export from Russia during January-September 2019 increased by 26.4% year-on-year up to more 80.3 mn sqm worth $36.3 mn, up 4.3%.

    In September, cotton fabric export grew by 34.2% year-on-year and by 9.8% month-on-month to make 9.9 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $4.1 mn, up 36.7% year-on-year and up 20.6% month-on-month.
