According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-September 2019 Russia exported 30.9 mn tons of ferrous metals, down 10.6% year-on-year. In terms of value, ferrous metals export declined by 19.5% down to $14.2 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 8% year-on-year to 10.9 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 22.4% down to some $4.7 bn.
In September, intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 4.6% year-on-year and up 16.5% month-on-month making slightly 1.17 mn tons. In terms of value, it was down 23.5% year-on-year and up 15.2% month-on-month to $477.4 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in January-September declined by 15.2% year-on-year down to 5.2 mn tons worth $2.9 bn, down 22.4%.
In September, this commodity export was down 22.4% year-on-year and up 4.9% month-on-month making 541.9 thousand tons worth $291.3 mn (down 30.7% year-on-year and 1.3% month-on-month).
Cast iron export in January-September declined by 19.9% year-on-year down to 3.4 mn tons worth $1.2 bn, down 26%.
In September, cast iron export made 399.5 mn tons, down 41.7% year-on-year and down 0.9% month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $133.5 mn, down 50.5% year-on-year and up 1.1% month-on-month.
Ferroalloys export in January-September increased by 5.1% year-on-year up to 620.7 thousand tons worth $960.1 mn (-2.5%).
In September, ferroalloy export was up 15.9% year-on-year and 8.4% month-on-month to 65.6 thousand tons. In terms of value, it remained on level with September last year and declined by 0.2% month-on-month to amount to $93.2 mn.
