In September 2019, the Russian Far Eastern ports cargo throughput increased by 2.7%. Export was up 3.4%, import up 1.1% and transit up 45.1%. Cabotage, on the contrary, decreased by 3.7% year-on-year.
More than 75% in the Russian Far Eastern ports’ commodity structure is coal, oil and products. In September, coal and coke accounted for 47.1% of the total volume, crude oil for 22.9% and oil products for 7.8%. Containerized cargo constituted 7.9% of the total.
Vladivostok
In September 2019 Vladivostok handled 8.6% less cargo than during the same month last year. Import declined by 1.7% and export by 25.1% year-on-year. Transit surged 5-fold. Cabotage remained much on the previous year’s level (-0.8%).
Vostochny
Cargo throughput via Vostochny grew by 6.4% year-on-year in September 2019. Cabotage was up 37%, transit up 13.9% and export up 6.2%. Import decreased slightly (-0.4%).
Vanino
Compared to September 2018 cargo throughput via Vanino declined by 2.5%. Import was slightly up by 0.3%, export up 0.2%. Cabotage was down 27.9%.
Nakhodka
Cargo throughput via Nakhodka grew by 2.1% year-on-year in September. Export increased by 4%, import doubled and cabotage was down 19.7%.
Posyet
Cargo throughput via Posyet increased by 28.1% year-on-year in September. Export was up 30.9%, cabotage grew by 13.4%.
