In September 2019, container traffic via Russia’s Far Eastern port was down 3.4% year-on-year. Import decreased by 1.9%, cabotage by 7.4% and export by 6.8%. Transit, on the contrary, grew by 31%.
Vladivostok
Vladivostok accounted for 59% of the aggregate container throughput of the Far Eastern sea ports in September. Compared to September 2018, the port handled container volume increased by 5.4%. Export was up 8.3% and transit surged 3.3-fold. Import declined by 1.4% and cabotage by 4.3% year-on-year.
Vostochny
Container traffic via Vostochny during the month under report decreased by 15.8%. Export dropped by 37.8%, import was down 2.3% and transit down 10.8%. Cabotage, on the contrary, grew by 3.4% year-on-year.
Korsakov
Cabotage constitutes the major share of the container throughput via Korsakov. In September this year it increased by 12.7%. Import grew by 14.7%, export was down 15.9%. The total container throughput was 11.5% above the September 2018 result.
Magadan
Container traffic via Magadan declined by 3.6% year-on-year in September. Cabotage, which constitutes the major share of the total, decreased by 1.7%. Import was down 69.9%. Export doubled.
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
Container traffic via Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky dropped by 40.9% year-on-year. Almost all of the total volume is cabotage, which decreased by 41.9%. Import was down 36.8%, and export down 36.3% year-on-year.
