Russia’s Arctic Ports’ Container Throughput Down in August

    In August 2019, container traffic via Russia’s Arctic region sea ports decreased by 16.3% year-on-year. Cabotage, which accounts for the major share of the total, was down 16.1%. Import declined by 42.7%. Export made 73 TEU.

    Murmansk

    Cabotage that constitutes the major share of container traffic via Murmansk surged 2.6-fold year-on-year in August. Export made 73 TEU. The total container throughput surged 2.6-fold year-on-year.

    Arkhangelsk

    Container traffic via Arkhangelsk decreased by 14.2% year-on-year in August 2019. Most of the container throughput via Arkhangelsk is cabotage. In August this year it decreased by 20.3%. Import, on the contrary, surged 5.8-fold.

    Cabotage container traffic via Dudinka declined by 15.8% year-on-year in August.
