In August 2019, the Russian Far Eastern ports cargo throughput increased slightly by 0.7%. Import was up 21.2%. Cabotage decreased by 3.1% and transit by 24.5%. Export remained much on the previous year’s level (+0.5%).
More than 75% in the Russian Far Eastern ports’ commodity structure is coal, oil and products. In August, coal and coke accounted for 45.1% of the total volume, crude oil for 25% and oil products for 7.5%. Containerized cargo constituted 7.9% of the total.
Vladivostok
In August 2019 Vladivostok handled 2.2% more cargo than during the same month last year. Import increased by 19.1% and cabotage by 3.5% year-on-year. Transit dropped by 96.8% and export was down 4.1% year-on-year.
Vostochny
Cargo throughput via Vostochny grew by 3.6% year-on-year in August 2019. Cabotage was up 16.8%, transit up 10.3% and export up 3.5%. Import declined slightly (-0.9%).
Vanino
Compared to August 2018 cargo throughput via Vanino increased by 4.8%. Import was up 20.5%, export up 7%. Cabotage, on the contrary, was down 20.7%.
Nakhodka
Cargo throughput via Nakhodka decreased by 11.1% year-on-year in August. Cabotage grew by 4.5%, import surged 4-fold and export was down 15.1%.
Posyet
Cargo throughput via Posyet declined by 10.1% year-on-year in August. Export was down 15.7%, cabotage grew by 40.2%, import surged 3-fold.
