The cargo throughput of the Russian ports in the Southern region in August 2019 decreased by 1% year-on-year. Export was down 1.3%, cabotage down 27.8%. Import grew by 19.1%, and transit by 21.1%.
The major share of the total throughput is oil and products. Crude oil accounted for 34.4% of the overall volume, oil products for 24% and grains for 19.2%.
Novorossiysk
The aggregate result demonstrated by the stevedores operating in the port of Novorossiysk increased by 7.7% year-on-year. Export was up 1.9%, transit up 18.4%, cabotage surged 3.2-fold. Import remained much on the previous year’s level (-0.3%).
Tuapse
In August 2019 Tuapse handled 19.7% more than during August 2018. The major share was export, and it increased by 19.2%. Import surged 3.2-fold. Cabotage was down 26.7%.
Rostov-on-the-Don
In August 2019 cargo throughput via Rostov increased by 5.2% year-on-year. Export was up 16.7%, import surged 2.7-fold, while cabotage was down 37.5%. Transit was non-existent in August.
Taman
Cargo traffic via Taman declined by 30.2% year-on-year in August. Export decreased by 34.8%, transit was down 7.6%, and import down 5.5%.
Kavkaz
Cargo traffic via Port Kavkaz decreased by 22.5% year-on-year. Export was down 21.8%, cabotage down 23.2%, and import down 30.2%.
