According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, during January-July of 2019 Russia’s export of sawn goods made over 11.6 mn tons, up 4.6% year-on-year. In terms of value, sawn goods export grew by 1.5% making $2.7 bn.
In July, sawn goods export made more than 1.8 mn thousand tons, up 3.7% year-on-year and up 5.9% month-on-month worth $412.3 mn, down 2.5% year-on-year and up 7% month-on-month.
Logs export declined during January-July by 15.2% year-on-year down to 8.9 mn cbm worth $660.9 mn, down 25.4% year-on-year.
In July, logs export made 1.4 mn cbm, down 18.4% year-on-year and up 17.6% month-on-month. In terms of value, it decreased by 26% year-on-year and grew by 16.9% month-on-month to make $96.7 mn.
Plywood export in January-July increased by 4.6% year-on-year down to 1.7 bn cbm worth some $690.6 mn, down 14.5%.
In July, plywood export made some 316.4 thousand cbm, up 32.6% year-on-year and up 32.9% month-on-month. In terms of value, it declined by 17.8% year-on-year, but grew by 4% month-on-month amounting to $101.4 mn.
Wood pulp export in January-July was on the same level as during the same period of 2018 amounting to 1.2 mn tons worth $665.4 mn, down 22.5%.
In July, it made 166 thousand tons, up 12.5% year-on-year and up 1% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export declined by 20.9% year-on-year and by 5.7% month-on-month down to $86 mn.
Newsprint export in January-July grew by 10.1% year-on-year up to 721.6 thousand tons worth $347.9 mn, up 1.2%.
In July, newsprint export decreased by 10.9% year-on-year and grew by 1.4% month-on-month up to 101.8 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was down 33% year-on-year and down 1.6% month-on-month to $44 mn.
