Фрахтовый рынок Азовского и Каспийского моря. Неделя 34 2019

Azov and Caspian Freight Market, Week 34, 2019

  • In the Azov market, side movement were observed the whole week. Only a couple of days ago, some traces of market revival were spotted.

According to Rufco shipbrokers, new cargoes started appearing on the market, mainly for the very end of August / beginning of September, but yet, there is a number of spot tonnage around.

The Russian currency decline might be also the tool to stimulate sales. The new harvest quantity and quality so far is a bit better than in 2018.

Freight rates to the Sea of Marmara from Rostov make $20-22 pmt.

Freight rates from Rostov to SE Black Sea ports are $18-20 pmt.

The Ukrainian harvest potential this year is very optimistic. This would be a relief for the stressed Black sea coasters market.

The Caspian region is losing attractiveness with the decline of freight rates and owners prefer to be involved in the Caspian/Marmara trade rather than take grain shipments here or from Volga river ports.

Freight ex Astrakhan to Iran make $28-29 pmt this week.

Please note that the rates cited in this article are average market rates. We ask our readers to pay attention that this information is not a commercial offer and cannot be an example for comparison in commercial disputes and arbitration.
