According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-April 2019 Russia imported 22.4 mn pairs of leather footwear, up 2.3% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import declined by 5.1% year-on-year down to $541.6 mn.
In April, leather footwear import was up 10% year-on-year and down 42.1% month-on-month making 3.3 mn pairs.
Clothes import into Russia in January-April increased by 1.6% up to $2.2 bn. In April, it was up 3.9% year-on-year and down 13.3% month-on-month to $473 mn.
Cotton fabric import during the first four months was up 21.3% year-on-year to 98.9 mn sqm worth $54 mn, up 0.2%.
In April, cotton fabric import increased by 22.6% year-on-year and by 5.2% month-on-month amounting to $25.1 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $14 mn, up 8.5% year-on-year and 12% month-on-month.
Cotton fabric export from Russia during January-April 2019 increased by 18.9% year-on-year up to 32.9 mn sqm worth $17.2 mn, up 6.8%.
In April, cotton fabric export increased by 60.9% year-on-year and by 23.9% month-on-month to make 9.6 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $4.5 mn, up 40.6% year-on-year and 2.3% month-on-month.
