According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-April 2019 Russia exported over 14.3 mn tons of ferrous metals, down 52.8% year-on-year. In terms of value, ferrous metals export declined 13.3% down to $6.6 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 2.8% year-on-year to over 5.3 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 15.8% down to some $2.3 bn.
In April, intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 18.4% year-on-year and 13.2% month-on-month making over 1.2 mn tons. In terms of value, it was down 28.7% year-on-year and 8.5% month-on-month to $559.1 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in January-April declined 12.9% year-on-year down to 2.4 mn tons worth $1.3 bn, down 19.3%.
In April, this commodity export was down 23.2% year-on-year and up 17.1% month-on-month making 619.2 thousand tons worth $356.8 mn (down 27.9% year-on-year and 17.1% month-on-month).
Cast iron export in January-April declined by 21.3% year-on-year down to 1.5 mn tons worth $510.7 mn, down 21.5%.
In April, cast iron export made 220 mn tons, down 37.8% year-on-year and 60.4% month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $76.9 mn, down 43.9% year-on-year and 59.9% month-on-month.
Ferroalloys export in January-April increased by 21.4% year-on-year up to 285 thousand tons worth $457.6 mn (+15.9%).
In April, ferroalloys export was up 9.4% year-on-year and 15% month-on-month to 73.4 thousand tons tons. In terms of value, it grew 5.6% year-on-year and 11.9% month-on-month to amount to $115.1 mn.
