FESCO Launches Kuril Islands Service

  • FESCO is launching a multimodal container service from mainland Russia to the Kuril Islands via Commercial Port of Vladivostok.

Cargo will be delivered by rail from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Khabarovsk by regular block trains operated by FESCO to Vladivostok. From there, it will be loaded on vessels and shipped to the Kurils.

Initially, fortnightly vessel departures are planned, later, the service schedule is expected to become weekly. FESCO said it will use vessels of its partners, which the company does not disclose so far.

On customer demand, FESCO can provide shipping cargo from the Kuril Islands to Vladivostok and, internationally, to Asian countries on both its own services and the services operated by the company’s partners.
