Footwear, Clothes Import

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-March 2019 Russia imported 19.2 mn pairs of leather footwear, up 2.1% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import declined by 5.8% year-on-year down to $455.4 mn.

    In March, leather footwear import was up 3.6% year-on-year and down 25% month-on-month making 5.7 mn pairs.

    Clothes import into Russia in January-March decreased by 2.2% down to $1.65 mn. In March, it was down 2.4% year-on-year and 3.9% month-on-month to $545.6 mn.

    Cotton fabric import during the first three months was up 19.8% year-on-year to 73.1 mn sqm worth $39.9 mn, down 2.2%.

    In March, cotton fabric import increased by 16.3% year-on-year and declined by 1.2% month-on-month amounting to $23.8 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $12.5 mn, down 12.6% year-on-year and 10.7% month-on-month.

    Cotton fabric export from Russia during Q1 2019 increased by 4.7% year-on-year up to 22.3 mn sqm worth $12.3 mn, down 2.4%.

    In March, cotton fabric export increased by 7.8% year-on-year and declined by 1.9% month-on-month to make 7.7 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $4.4 mn, up 2.3% both year-on-year and month-on-month.
