In the Azov market, more agri cargoes were put in the market during the past week. This gave some kind of support to the freight levels, but in general the market remains without any significant changes so far.
According to Rufco shipbrokers, coal shipments have appeared in the market again and there is one more brisk marker for forthcoming revival, which has been spotted recently – TC orders demanding for sea-river tonnage.
Freight rates to the Sea of Marmara from Rostov make $16-17 per ton.
Freight rates from Rostov to SE Black Sea ports are $14-15 per ton.
The Black Sea coasters segment is continuing the dive. The main reason for such a fall is the absence of agri cargoes and low buying interest amongst Turkish importers.
In the Caspian, religious holidays are coming soon and it indeed affects the overall activity in the region. As a result, freights have declined here again. Mid-Volga is also not so vivid and spot tonnage can be traced in Don and Volga river ports.
The current freight rates from Astrakhan to Iran make $25-27 per ton.
