April 23, the special purpose heavylift vessel “Zhen Hua 19” came to NUTEP terminal in Novorossiysk delivering ZPMC-built STS cranes for the newly built Berth 38.
The new berth that will be capable of accommodating ocean-going container ships with a capacity of up to 10 thousand TEU is to be put into operation on July 1. It is 378 m long with a depth of 15.6 m, which allows a draft of 15 m. The total area of the berth is 4 ha.
Berth 38 is part of the investment project to expand the terminal capacity from the current 350 thousand TEU to 700 TEU per annum. It will be equipped with three 50-ton STS cranes, four 50-ton RTGs and two reach stackers manufactured by ZPMC.
