According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-February 2019 Russia exported over 7 mn tons of ferrous metals, up 5.1% year-on-year. In terms of value, ferrous metals export declined 3.9% down to $3.2 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was up 12.4% year-on-year to over 2.7 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 3.1% down to $1.11 bn.
In February, intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was up 15.7% year-on-year and 3.2% month-on-month making 1.3 mn tons. In terms of value, it was down 3.1% year-on-year and up 1.5% month-on-month to $564.9 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in January-February declined 4.5% year-on-year down to 1.2 mn tons worth $665.8 mn, down 12.3%.
In February, this commodity export was up 3.4% year-on-year and down 14.9% month-on-month making 554.4 thousand tons worth $307.2 mn (down 6.4% year-on-year and 14.8% month-on-month).
Cast iron export in January-February grew 3.4% year-on-year up to 647.8 mn tons worth $241.6 mn, up 3.3%.
In February, cast iron export made 465.7 mn tons, down 7.1% year-on-year, but up 2.-fold month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $165.8 mn, down 6% year-on-yar, but up 2.2-fold month-on-month.
Ferroalloys export in January-February increased 21.4% year-on-year up to 147.7 mn tons worth $239.5 mn (+23.6%).
In February, ferroalloys export was up 7.7% year-on-year, but down 3.1% month-on-month to 72.7 mn tons. In terms of value, it grew 4.8% year-on-year declining 10.4% month-on-month to amount to $113.2 mn.
