April 17, a stockholders’ agreement was signed with a pool of investors on the Lavna terminal concession in Murmansk. The project participants, which include the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK), BusinessGlobus Company, Port Infersastructure Development Center, SDS-Ugol and RZD-Infrastructure Projects also signed contracts on the sale and acquisition of shares in Commercial Sea Port of Lavna project company.
The signing ceremony was held in the RF Ministry of Transport and was attended by Transport Minister Evgeny Ditrikh. He called Lavna a strategic project. “This is a state of the art deepwater port in Murmansk that will be able of handling 18 mn tons of coal annually. the project also envisages building a local rail 2.3 km long”. He added that the project will be based on PPP scheme.
According to the Transport Ministry, the terminal is to reach its project capacity of 18 mn tons in 2021.
