Russia’s export of cars during the first month of 2019 amounted to 6.2 thousand units, surging 44.2% year-on-year. Compared to December 2018, January car export declined 28.7%.
Truck export, according to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, dropped by a half year-on-year and by 84% month-on-month down to 400 units.
In terms of value, car export increased 27.5% year-on-year, but declined 37% month-on-month to $76 mn. Truck export plummeted 40.1% year-on-year and 86.6% month-on-month down to $8.5 mn.
Car import was down 8.3% year-on-year and 48.2% month-on-month to 13.2 thousand units. Truck import grew 78% year-on-year, but decreased 51.7% month-on-month to make 1.4 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import was up 6.2% year-on-year and down 48.6% month-on-month amounting to $357.7 mn. Truck import increased 7.9% year-on-year and declined 37.9% month-on-month making $129.1 mn.
