  • According to Russian Railways, the loading of export designated cargo destined for Russian sea ports made 52.4 mn tons during the first two months of 2019 increasing 4.4% year-on-year.

    45.2% of the entire volume is coal. Oil accounts for 28.8%, ferrous metals for 9%, fertilizers for 6.3%, and grains for 3.2% of the total.

    Coal loading grew 8.6%, oil was up 5.4%, ore up 23.6%, paper up 5.4% and timber and logs up 4.4% year-on-year.

    21.7 mn tons, 2.3% less than in January-February 2018, was designated for the North-West sea ports.

    The South region ports accounted for 13.6 mn tons, up 9.3% year-on-year.

    The cargo volume loaded for the ports of the Russian Far East made 17 mn tons, up 9.9% year-on-year.

    In February 2019, export rail cargo loading designated for the Russian sea ports made 25.5 mn tons, up 5% month-on-month.
