New Cranes for Vladivostok

  • Commercial Port of Vladivostok is to commission five new cranes, four Vityaz portal cranes and one Liebherr LPS (Liebherr Portal Slewing) 420 units as part of its modernization program.

    The new equipment will allow to increase operations efficiency and cut vessel handling time by improving performance by 15-20% compared to the current performance rate, according to the port.

    The Vityaz cranes with a capacity up to 63 tons each will be mounted on Berths 6 and 13 of the Universal terminal. The St. Petersburg-manufactured units are universal and can be used for handling any type of cargo.

    Liebherr LPS 420 is aimed for handling dry bulk and piece cargo, it will be mounted on Berth 9. The crane has a capacity of up to 124 tons, the boom reach is up to 48 m. It will have the largest hoisting capacity among all the equipment used in Commercial Port of Vladivostok.

    Currently, the Universal terminal of the port operates 26 cranes with a capacity of 16 to 100 tons.
