Ледовые ограничения в Приморске

Ice Restrictions Put off in Primorsk and Ust-Luga

  • In the port of Ust-Luga, due to slower ice formation and milder weather forecast, the introduction of additional restrictions for vessels is put off until March 1 instead of February 21.

Since this date, provided the ice reached 10-15 cm thick, the following restrictions enter into force:

    • Barges pulled by tugs are not allowed to sail in the ice conditions.
    • Vessels with no ice class are allowed to navigate only escorted by icebreakers.
    • Vessels with the Ice1 and higher ice class and above are allowed to navigate with or without icebreaking support.

In the port of Primorsk, additional restrictions are to come into force also w.e.f. March 1 instead of February 22, for the same reason:

    • Vessels with no ice class and barges pulled by tugs are not allowed to sail in the ice conditions.
    • Vessels with Ice1 ice class are allowed to navigate only escorted by icebreakers.
    • Vessels with the Ice2 and higher ice class and above are allowed to navigate with or without icebreaking support, on recommendation and advice of the icebreaker.
