According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during the full year of 2018 Russia imported 59.6 mn pairs of leather footwear, up 15.4% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import increased by 12.7% up to $1.7 bn.
In December, leather footwear import surged by 65.2% month-on-month up to 3.8 mn pairs.
Clothes import into Russia in 2018 grew by 7.4% up to over $7.1 bn.
Cotton fabric import increased by just 0.4% up to 251.1 mn sqm in physical terms. In terms of value it was up 14.2% to $161.8 mn.
Cotton fabric export from Russia grew by 4.5% up to 87.5 mn sqm physically, but declined by 3.1% down to $46.7 mn in terms of value.
