During the full year of 2018, import of meat and dairy products into Russia declined.
According to the RF Federal Customs Service, Russia imported 409.2 thousand tons of meat and meat products, down 36.4% year-on-year.
Fresh and frozen poultry import decreased by 2.5% down to 221.7 thousand tons.
Fish import was down 5% to 407.2 thousand tons.
However, canned meat and meat specialties import increased by 3.3% up to 18.3 thousand tons.
Condensed milk and cream import was dropped 30.3% down to 166.8 thousand tons.
Butter import decreased 9.6% down to 89.3 thousand tons.
Vegetable oil import grew by just 0.1% up to 25.7 thousand tons. In December, Russia imported 113.5 thousand tons of palm oil, down 8.3% month-on-month.
Citrus fruit import during the full year of 2018 was up 7.5% to some 1.7 mn tons. In December, Russia imported 98.4 thousand tons of apples (+18.4% month-on-month) and 132.5 thousand tons of bananas (+1.4% month-on-month).
Sugar import continued to decline, in 2018 raw sugar import dropped 54.9% down to 6.5 thousand tons, while white sugar import, on the contrary, increased by 28% up to 315.3 thousand tons.
Coffee import grew by 3.1% up to 195.5 thousand tons, while tea import declined by 3% down to 163.8 thousand tons.
