VEB.RF will finance the construction of three new tankers for Novatek. As Igor Shuvalov, Chairman of the state-led corporation told the meeting of the VEB Supervisory Board, the investment will make some 10 bn rubles.
Vice Premier Dmitry Medvedev, who presided over the meeting, reminded that earlier the construction of two large-tonnage oil tankers and a shuttle tanker at the Far Eastern Zvezda yard was approved.
The additional three tankers for transportation of light oil products and gas condensate will be capable of operating in complicated ice conditions, including the Baltic Sea. The vessels will be operated by Sovcomflot.
The financial instrument is to be provided by VEB Leasing.
