Azov and Caspian Freight Market, Week 48, 2018

  • In the Sea of Azov, Yeisk port has also declared the start of the Ice Campaign as from November 29. Under the conditions of winter navigation owners are asking $32 pmt to Marmara destinations, however Charterers / Shippers are usually starting their figures only from $28 pmt, according to Rufco shipbrokers.

    According to Rufco, freight rates to the Sea of Marmara from Rostov make $30-32 per ton.

    Freight rates from Rostov to SE Black Sea ports are $28-30 per ton.

    In the Caspian, freight rates have almost stabilized. The tonnage is mainly engaged on long-terms contracts and spot vessels are extremely rare.

    The current freight rates from Astrakhan to Iran remain at $48-51 per ton.
