Three Arc7 Gas Tankers Named

  • Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has named three Arc-7 ice class liquefied natural gas carriers to serve the Novatek-operated Yamal LNG project, LNG World News reports.

    The 172,000 cbm capacity vessels ordered by Dynagas were named “Georgiy Brusilov”, “Boris Davydov” and “Nikolay Zubov”.

    They are the 8th, 9th and 10th of Yamal LNGC series that is comprised of 15 LNG carriers in total.

    The LNG tankers were constructed under the supervision of Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping (RS) together with BV.

    Novatek expects to launch the third Yamal LNG train by year-end, the design of the fourth LNG train is in progress.

    The third train will have a capacity of 5.5 mn tons per year, same as the first two Yamal trains.
