According to Russian Railways, the loading of export designated cargo destined for Russian sea ports made 253.9 mn tons during January-October 2018 increasing 5.3% year-on-year.
46.9% of the entire volume is coal. Oil accounts for 26%, ferrous metals for 8.8%, fertilizers for 6.7%, and grains for 3.7% of the total.
Coal loading grew 3.6%, ferrous metals were up 10.4%, fertilizers up 4%, grains up 37.2%, paper up 8.6% and timber and logs up 18.3% year-on-year.
108 mn tons, 7.3% more than in January-October 2017, was designated for the North-West sea ports.
The South region ports accounted for 63.3 mn tons, up 1% year-on-year.
The cargo volume loaded for the ports of the Russian Far East grew 6.3% to make 82.4 mn tons.
In October, export cargo loading designated for Russian sea ports increased 1.2% month-on-month making 24.9 mn tons.
