Vyacheslav Saraev, CEO of TransContainer, and Angela Titzrath, Chairwoman of the Executive Board of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG have signed a memorandum on cooperation today in Hamburg.
According to TransContainer, the agreement envisages close cooperation in organizing rail container transportation between China and Europe and joining forces in developing most efficient cargo delivery schemes, managing these cargo flows and cooperation in setting up regular block trains.
The strategic aim of such cooperation is developing cargo transportation between China and Europe in the framework of the New Silk Way project.
The parties are to elaborate their intermodal service offer by expanding the capacity of the terminals operated by Metrans, the intermodal subsidiary of HHLA, and TransContainer and increase cargo transportation by rail.
