According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-August 2018 Russia exported 30.8 mn tons of ferrous metals, up 12.9% year-on-year.
In terms of value, ferrous metals export grew 33.8% up to $15.7 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export increased 14% up to 10.7 mn tons. In terms of value, this commodity export was up 45.9% to $5.4 bn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export declined 8.5% down to 5.5 mn tons. In terms of value, iron and unalloyed steel flat section export increased 9.7% up to $3.3 bn.
Cast iron export grew 33.4% up to 3.6 mn tons. In terms of value, cast iron export surged 46.3% up to some $1.3 bn.
Ferroalloys export was up 8.9% to 533.9 thousand tons worth $891.9 mn (+7.3%).
