According to the RF Federal Customs Statistics, during January-July 2018 Russia imported 36 mn pairs of leather footwear, up 20.7% year-on-year.
In July, leather footwear import surged 52.2% month-on-month exceeding 7 mn pairs.
In terms of value, leather footwear import in January-July increased 22% up to $984.3 mn.
Clothes import in January-June also grew by 11.9% up to slightly over $4 bn.
Cotton fabric import decreased 3.6% down to 137.9 mn sqm. In terms of value, it increased 13.4 % up to $92.5 mn.
Cotton fabric export from Russia was up 4.2 up to 47.8 mn sqm and down 1.1% to $27.3 mn in terms of value.
