Azov and Caspian Freight Market, Week 28, 2018

  • During this week, a decline in Turkish trading activity has been spotted, however, it has absolutely no effect on freight rates, which continue galloping. Spot tonnage is quite rare and owners are absolute market rulers these days, according to Rufco shipbrokers.

Freight rates to the Sea of Marmara from Rostov make $29-30 per ton.

Freight rates from Rostov to SE Black Sea ports are $27-28 per ton.

The Caspian market remains absolutely in the same condition as during the last week. Most probably, it is going to remain in same position until the moment when there there is a clear outcome on the sanctions against Iran.

The current freight rates from Astrakhan to Iran make $26-28 per ton.

Please note that the rates cited in this article are average market rates. We ask our readers to pay attention that this information is not a commercial offer and cannot be an example for comparison in commercial disputes and arbitration proceedings.
