According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, during January-May 2018 Russia’s export of sawn goods for the first time exceeded logs export.
Thus, sawn goods export made 7.6 mn tons, up 3.7% year-on-year. In terms of value, sawn goods export grew 18.3% up to $1.8 bn.
Logs export declined 6.2% down to 7.3 mn tons. In terms of value, logs export was up 5.9% making $636 mn.
Plywood export increased 10.3% up to almost 1.1 mn cbm in terms of volume and 30.3% up to $572.1 mn in term of value.
Wood pulp export grew 2.4 up to 875.3 thousand tons in terms of tonnage and surged 52.4% up to $620.6 mn in terms of value.
Newsprint export declined slightly by 0.4% to 452.2 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it increased 22.6% up to $227.6 mn.
