Russian Food Import

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in January-April this year Russia imported 123.4 thousand tons of meat and meat products, down 34.5% year-on-year.

    Canned meat and processed meat products import decreased 7.1% down to 5.2 thousand tons.

    Fresh and frozen poultry import declined 5.4% down to 64.5 thousand tons.

    Fish import, on the contrary, grew 8.4% up to 153.1 thousand tons.

    Milk and condensed cream import dropped 32.4% year-on-year down to 47.8 thousand tons.

    Butter import dropped 43.4% down to 19.4 thousand tons.

    Vegetable oils import surged 2.3-fold up to 11.6 thousand tons. Palm oil import made in April as much as 68.2 thousand tons, up 29.5% month-on-month.

    Citrus fruit import during January-February grew 12.7% year-on-year up to 678.2 thousand tons. Apple import in February made 149.6 thousand tons (-2.9% month-on-month), and banana import was 159.4 thousand tons (+11.5% month-on-month).

    Raw sugar import in January-April dropped 59.3% to just 1.7 thousand tons, while white sugar import declined 4.2% up to 88.4 thousand tons.

    Coffee import was up 3.3% to 64.6 thousand tons and tea import up 5.8% to 56.7 thousand tons.
