According to the RF Federal Customs Service Statistics, during January-April 2017 Russia exported 15.2 mn tons of ferrous metals, up 13.5% year-on-year.
In terms of value, ferrous metals export grew 32.1% up to $7.6 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export increased 11.4% to over 5.4 mn tons. In terms of value, this commodity export was up 40.5% to some $2.7 bn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export declined 12.4% down to 2.7 mn tons. In terms of value, iron and unalloyed steel flat section export increased 5.8% up to $1.6 bn.
Cast iron export grew 39.9% up to 1.8 mn tons. In terms of value, cast iron export surged 57.7% up to $650.8 mn.
Ferroalloys export was down 2.1% to 234.8 thousand tons worth $394.9 mn (-4.7%).
