According to the RF Federal Customs Service Statistics, during Q1 2017 Russia exported 11.1 mn tons of ferrous metals, up 7.3% year-on-year.
In terms of value, ferrous metals export grew 24.4% up to $5.5 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export increased 2.2% to over 3.9 mn tons. In terms of value, this commodity export up 28% to some $1.9 bn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export declined 17.3% down to 1.9 mn tons. In terms of value, cast iron export was stable at $1.2 bn (+0.5% year-on-year).
Cast iron export increased 26.2% up to 1.5 mn tons. In terms of value, cast iron export surged 40% up to some $51.38 mn.
Ferroalloys export was down 8.1% to 167.7 thousand tons worth $285.9 mn (-12.4%).
