The “Hercules” yachting centre in Saint-Petersburg will host the second youth regatta, organized by MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, on 19 May.
This year MSC celebrates its 20th anniversary in the Russian market with special guests and industry dignitaries gathering at the regatta to celebrate the two decade of cargo shipping success.
To highlight the occasion, the Makarov Sailing Cup features 7 Beneteau Platu 25 racing sailboats.
“Sailing is a great opportunity to prove yourself both individually and as part of a team. We are glad that the cadets of the leading marine university in the country have the opportunity to experience the strength of the elements” said Anton Nazarov, director of MSC in Russia.
The regatta will be judged this year by the sports judge of the international class of the all-Russian category – Ukhin Mikhail Sergeevich.
Some 70 sailors will take part in the competition, among them 50 cadets of the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping, MSC employees, media representatives and clients of the company.
