Ice Regime in St. Petersburg Changed

  • Due to the improving ice situation in the Big port of St. Petersburg basin and approach channels and fairways and the favourable ice forecast, less tough ice regime is introduced in the port.

W.e.f. April 9, 2018 the following restrictions will be applied in the port and in the approach channels:

Vessels without an ice class are allowed to sail only escorted by and icebreaker.

Vessels with the Ice1 ice class and above are allowed to sail independently or escorted by an icebreaker.

Barges pulled by tugs and small craft are not allowed to sail in the port.
