The weather is influencing the market. Ice formation in the Sea of Azov has resulted in delays in vessel handling, especially in Rostov and Azov ports.
Northbound Bosporus transit is also being affected right now by the weather. Such delays at the same level of trading activity have caused tighter demand in free vessels and small rise in freight levels.
According to Rufco shipbrokers, this week freight rates to the Sea of Marmara from Rostov make $35-36 per ton and from Yeisk $34-35 per ton
Freight rates to SE Black Sea ports from Rostov are $33-34 per ton, and from Yeisk $32-33 per ton.
There is nothing new in the Caspian segment. Similar rates most probably would be in force until the beginning of river navigation at the end of March.
Freight rates from Astrakhan to Iran made $40-43 per ton.
